Hello, I'm George, founder and camp director of Sunnyside Up! I started Sunnyside Up Camp because I have a passion for working for kids and want every camper that comes through our camp to have as good of a childhood as I did.

Camp Manager

Hey everyone! I'm Jenna, and I'm gearing up for my second year of teachers' college. This summer marks my 5th year at Sunnyside Up, and I'll be working abroad from Europe! At Sunnyside Up Camp, I love helping children create everlasting memories, form new friendships, and inspire them to embrace every moment of their summer adventures. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, travelling and cooking!

Hey there! I'm Elie, and I'm passionate about bringing fun and excitement to every corner of Sunnyside Up Camp! I'm a First Aid Instructor and have been at Sunnyside for as long as I can remember. I'm all about making every moment unforgettable, and I love nothing more than sharing that joy with our campers.

Hi! My name is Rachel and I have been at Sunnyside Up for two years now. I have always loved summer camp and returned to it every year since I was four as a camper, volunteer, counsellor, and manager. I am very passionate about working with children and inspiring them through creativity, education, and moments of pure fun and joy💕 Currently, I am in my fourth year of children and youth studies, along with teacher’s college approaching soon. I am also pursuing a certification in children’s literature. In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I always look forward to making more memories at Sunnyside Up and meeting new friends:) It has been the highlight of the past two years

PA Day Camp Volunteer

Volunteer at Sunnyside Up PA Day Camp and make a difference! Join us on exciting trips to places like Legoland, Chuck E. Cheese, and the Toronto Islands, helping to supervise children and ensuring they have a fantastic time. Your support will create lasting memories for the kids while you enjoy a day filled with fun and adventure. Be part of something special—join us and make a positive impact!

Job Description:


Duration: Nov 15, Nov 29, Jan 17, Feb 14, Jun 6 

Schedule: Fridays, 8:45 am-4:15 pm

Minimum Commitment: Must commit to one full day


About the Role:

This opportunity is perfect for individuals who:

Responsibilities:

As a volunteer, you will be assigned to a camper group and assist counsellors supervise children. Your duties will include:

  • Supervising Children

  • Guide and support kids during breaks, ensuring their safety and comfort

  • Socializing and engaging with kids in your group

  • Earn volunteer hours to fulfill your high school community service graduation requirement

Summer Camp Volunteer

Volunteer at Sunnyside Up Camp and make a difference! Help create a fun summer for kids, whether you're assisting with activities or simply lending a listening ear. Join us for a rewarding experience filled with joy and lasting memories.

Job Description:


Duration: July 2nd - August 30th 2025

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:45 am-4:15 pm

Minimum Commitment: Must volunteer for a minimum of 1 (one) week


About the Role:

As a volunteer, you will be assigned to a camper group and assist counsellors with various tasks. Your duties will include:

  • Create an inviting atmosphere by setting up and organizing camp spaces

  • Assisting with art projects

  • Guide and support kids during breaks, ensuring their safety and comfort

  • Socializing and engaging with kids in your group

  • Participating in camp activities and themed days

Tips on What Makes an Ideal Candidate for Sunnyside Up Camp:

Job Description: As a Camp Counsellor at Sunnyside Up Camp, you will play a pivotal role in creating memorable experiences for campers while ensuring their safety and well-being. You will work alongside a dynamic team of educators and outdoor enthusiasts to deliver engaging and enriching activities that promote learning, teamwork, and fun.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and engage campers in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, sports, nature exploration, and team-building games.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where campers feel valued, supported, and encouraged to try new things.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times, following camp policies and procedures.

  • Act as a role model for campers by demonstrating respect, responsibility, and positive communication.

  • Collaborate with fellow counsellors and camp leadership to plan and implement daily schedules, special events, and themed activities.

  • Provide guidance and support to campers in developing social skills, problem-solving abilities, and self-confidence.

  • Assist with camp logistics, including meal times, clean-up duties, and maintaining a tidy and organized camp environment.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on camper progress, activities, and any concerns.


Qualifications:

  • Working toward the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent; college/university coursework in education, recreation, or related field preferred.

  • Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting is desirable.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with campers of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification).

  • Enthusiasm for outdoor activities, creativity, and adventure.

  • Team player with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with children.
